چکیده
This article analyzes rational decision-making in court as an emotive-cognitive process formed and through social interaction. Current theoretical perspectives have shown how emotion thought are intertwined the workings of human brain but seldom elaborated on contextual structural features rational-emotional decision-making. I propose a model that maps emotional processes management demands to temporally extended, stepwise rational-legal show (a) bounded structure actualizes different complexes at stages (b) demand for objectivity calls parallel subject positions remain independent while sustaining cohesion.

Emotions in Rational Decision Making
Emotions play an important role in human decision making. This often has a beneficial effect, and so it is desirable to explore whether emotions can also play a role in agent decision making. This paper builds on several pieces of earlier work which resulted in a formalization of a model of emotions. We show how, in particular, the emotions of gratitude and displeasure and related emotions can ...
متن کاملMaking Rational Decisions Using Adaptive Utility Elicitation
Rational decision making requires full knowledge of the utility function of the person affected by the decisions. However, in many cases, the task of acquiring such knowledge is not feasible due to the size of the outcome space and the complexity of the utility elicitation process. Given that the amount of utility information we can acquire is limited, we need to make decisions with partial uti...
متن کاملRelationships between Rational Decisions, Human Motives, and Emotions
In the decision-making and rationality research field, Rational Decision Theory (RDT) has always been the main framework, thanks to the elegance and complexity of its mathematical tools. Unfortunately, the formal refinement of the theory is not accompanied by a satisfying predictive accuracy, thus there is a big gap between what is predicted by the theory and the behavior of real subjects. Here...
متن کاملExploring the Role of Emotions in Rational Decision Making
Our focus in this paper is to explore how emotional factors can complement rationality in decision making. Our approach is to develop a model of the situation and use this model to generate arguments for and against the actions that an agent can perform. Actions are then chosen by evaluating this set of arguments according to the subjective preferences and emotional state of the agent concerned...
